Virgin London Marathon post race report by Paddy Yarranton-Green
Well done to Paddy for completing the Virgin London Marathon as the winner of the CMRC club space.
Here is his last report of the big day - well done Paddy!
So, The London Marathon was all it was cracked up to be.
With the fantastic support from the huge crowds on the streets to seeing club members dotted along the course. It's certainly didn't disappoint. So many other inspirational runners running for the individual charities and loved ones. I was in complete awe of them.
Truly amazing!
At 15, 16 and 17 miles my race had been run with a pulled hamstring and then my IT band went, walking the duration was a must. It’s just one of those things you don't plan for that just happens, but that didn't dampen my spirit or determination. I ploughed on through and walked, soaking up the atmosphere, fancy dress and encouraging fellow runners in true CMRC style.
I enjoyed it so much, I've entered the ballot for next year and hopefully will have no injuries along the way if I get in.
