The CMRC championship consists of a range of races, mostly local and low-cost, including local parkruns throughout the year.

Races for 2025 are expected to be:

  1. 22 February - Wyre Forest parkrun (5km)

  2. 9 March - Chester (10km) [NEW - CLUB DAY TRIP] [***IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ NOTE BELOW!***]

  3. 23 March - Ironbridge Half Marathon (Half)

  4. 5 April - Worcester Pitchcroft parkrun (5km)

  5. 3 May - Arrow Valley Parkrun (5km) [NEW]

  6. 31 May - Telford parkrun (5km) [NEW]

  7. 21 June - Severn Valley parkrun (5km)

  8. 13 July - Ludlow (10km) [NEW]

  9. [xx] August - Tenbury (10km).

  10. 14 September - Worcester Half Marathon (Half)

  11. [xx] October - Stourport ‘Almost 8’ (8km - ish!)

  12. [xx] October - Bridgnorth (10km).

NOTE: The Chester 10k starts in three separate waves, but these are not based on your finish time, you can choose when you enter. We will ensure the coach gets to Chester in time for the blue wave which starts at 9:30am, however if this one fills up, you can also choose the purple wave, which starts at 10am. This race will sell out, so please get your entries in early if you would like to take part.

Rules

The rules for the 2025 season are as follows:

  • Only full members of CMRC will be included and CMRC must be your first claim club with England Athletics.

  • Please make sure you enter the race (or are registered with Parkrun) as a member of CMRC.

  • CMRC kit must be worn for the duration of each race.

  • For each race, the top finisher in each category will be awarded 10 points, 2nd finisher 9 points and so on with every eligible member earning a minimum of 2 points per race.

  • There will be five categories, with separate awards made for males and females; under 40, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over. Age is calculated on the date of the first race of the year (the Wyre Forest parkrun).

  • You can take part in as many or as few of the races as you like, but only your highest 6 scores will count.

  • Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 in each category at the end of the year (usually at the Christmas party).
