FAQs
How do I join the club?
We use an online membership and session management system called ClubOrg. Simply click the ‘Join-Us’ button on the front page of our website, create an account, and sign up! If you need any assistance, don't hesitate to give us a shout.
Do I need to be a super speedy runner to join your club?
Not at all! On Tuesday nights, we have a range of groups for all runners, from group 1 to group 5, plus a walkers group. Group 1 is typically the next step after our beginners course, while group 5 is for faster runners.
How will I know which group to join on a Tuesday?
As a rough guide, we recommend using your current 5k time to determine which group is best for you. You'll find all the 5k times in the booking app when you sign up for a session. If you're unsure, feel free to reach out to us, and we can help you decide.
Where do you meet?
Mondays and Fridays: The Community Hub in Cleobury Mortimer
Tuesdays and Thursdays: The Sports and Social Club in Cleobury Mortimer
Can I try before I join?
Absolutely! When you sign up through our membership and booking system, you can choose a trial membership, which allows you to enjoy 2 free sessions whenever you like.
Why do I need to give you all my details when I register?
CMRC operates under England Athletic regulations, which require us to collect certain details during the registration process. This includes emergency contact information and any medical issues to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
Where do I park?
Tuesdays and Thursdays: There is limited parking at the Sports and Social Club car park, but there are two free car parks located in Childe Road (DY14 8PB).
Mondays and Fridays: There is plenty of on-street parking near The Community Hub.
What do I do if I can’t make a session?
If you can't make it to a session, please follow these steps to help us keep everything running smoothly:
Cancel Your Spot: Use the booking app to cancel your session. This frees up the space for someone else and ensures our attendance records are accurate.
Timely Cancellation: You’ll get a reminder two hours before the session starts. If you realise you can't attend, try to cancel as soon as possible after receiving the reminder, or even earlier if you can.
Inform Run Leaders: Canceling through the app automatically lets our run leaders know you won't be attending, which helps them plan better and keep everyone safe.
By doing this, you help us maintain the necessary 12:1 member-to-run leader ratio and contribute to the overall safety and enjoyment of our sessions.
What do I do if I need support:
If you need support, here’s what you can do:
We have two Welfare Officers in the club, Lisa Garlick and David Alliston. You can reach out to them confidentially at any time via Messenger or email to discuss any welfare issues you might have. They're here to help and support you.
If you need any help with the technology side of the club, feel free to contact Ian Steele who will be happy to help.
