Its a 'Face-off'! At Championship Round #7.
Teamwork makes the dream work.
Championship Round no.7 saw somewhat of an increase in CMRC’ers competing at Stourport Circuit’s 2nd Fast and Furious round. Many of us have been on holiday, or tapering for other events, so the 2nd round of the three mad 5K dashes saw some new faces looking to take on the deceptively undulating criterium circuit.
Toby Lloyd, a relatively new member and only 17 years old clocked in a staggering 17:51 making Toby first club man to come across the line. Very closely followed by Ewan Shaw, bagging time of 17:57. Both Toby and Ewan knocking off a good minute or so each as their previous times were (Ewan) with 18:07 and (Toby) 18:24. Incredible efforts and commitment and clearly some exciting competition had between both! Yohannis Kasse, another new club member with incredible natural running talent clocked in a fantastic 18:27. Evidently these three are the ones to watch!
“I would like to mention how well Toby ran. It was quite hard to keep up with him throughout the race, achieving something under 18 minutes and raising the bar every time! Yohannis was one to look out for too, setting the pace well into the early stages of the race. I hope to do the third round a bit better, getting another PB and setting the bar even higher for someone else at the club to chase!”.

The race, yet again was hot, sticky and intense! Though this time we were well prepared and the rain made a welcome appearance toward the end. Check out some of the snaps below, I wonder if you can figure out on the pain-scale who got their Pbs or who was just enjoying it far too much …….! ;)
A huge well done to those who turned up for the first two rounds consecutively, that’s a tremendous effort knowing the focus and strength it takes to do it all over again! Be proud of that, team!
